Shopping Cart: Why are sulfate-free cleansers important?
Recent studies have shown that sulfates cause a variety of skin maladies, especially with sensitive skin. Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) strips moisture and oil from the skin and disturbs our skin’s natural barrier. This causes an overproduction of oil, which can be problematic on acne prone skin.
The good news is that most skin care lines are now recognizing how irritating sulfates are so it is becoming easier to find skincare lines that are sulfate-free and offering sulfate-free products. I like a really foamy cleanser because it makes me feel super clean. I tried the clarify wash and i like it. I don’t just use it at night though, I use it morning and night because I’m very oily and it helps keep me from breaking out.
